Jean-Pierre Rousseau was born in Paris in 1939. He is descended from a French aristocratic family. After he graduated from law school he decided to become a full time artist. His first art critiques we find in "Nice Martin" newspaper from 1957. The critics haven't stopped writing about him since. In 1961 Prince Rainier and Princess Grace Kelly started to sponsor his exhibitions all over the world and became one of his biggest collectors. Mr. Rousseau traveled and lived in many places around the world, such as Canada, Costa Rica, Monte-Carlo, Paris, Venice and today he lives in a small fisher village up north of France.
