Andrea Ederle, “The Poet of Colors”
Andrea Ederle was born in Peschiera del Garda, a little town near Verona in the North of Italy, in 1941. Ederle received his degree from the College of Fine Arts in Verona, and then his degree in Teaching fine arts. Ederle teaches art to school children, as well as paints professionally.
Ederle has exhibited paintings all over Italy, and in particular in Verona, and in Foggia in the South of Italy. Ederle has also exhibited on the invitation of the city of Brixen, where he holds a permanent exhibition. In Milan, his works are permanently exhibited at the “Galleria Duomo” as well as in Innsbruck, Austria.
Ederle has been named the “Poet of Colors” by critics for his artistic mastery and ability to create emotions with colors and forms, which are boldly in balance between purely informal and post-informal figurative. Ederle consistently produces works that are research-based, and are on a solid background of experimental art.
Ederle is not intimidated by the idea of creating large spaces of color, combined with transparencies and graphic fading out that is obtained through color abduction with a see-through background.
Ederle's wealth of emotion covers different themes, from an homage to Juliet, the Shakespearean heroine of his hometown Verona, to a retrospective of Venice, to views of the infinite and of the sea, which is a constant source of inspiration to him.
Ederle currently lives and works in Verona, Italy.
