RAGELLAH ROURKE
“My recent paintings are based on my passion for architectural structures combined with patterns found in nature. I fined these patterns in various places, such as sedimentary rock formations, trees, stone walls and plant life. I collect these images in my memory. Working intuitively, I combine these elements to form the development of the images. The structures are visible and defined, yet often I paint the armature or skeleton of a structure, to slow the atmospheric quality to move throughout the painting, and expose interior structures simultaneously. This allows me to form a physical reality and connect it to more subtle levels of existence.
